The Medieval Central Europe Research Network (MECERN) is an interdisciplinary network of scholars, students and interested others, fostering research and spreading knowledge of medieval Central Europe. We are committed to the spirit of an open, friendly and free scientific exchange.
For this reason, we condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the following war of aggression. Our unlimited sympathy and solidarity are with our colleagues, fellow students, their family and friends, and everyone affected by that war.
As historians, we would also like to draw the attention to the damages this war will mean for the cultural heritage of the Ukraine. We therefore support the initiative “Aid for the Central State Historical Archive in Lviv” by our colleagues from Cracow.
